You can’t just leave Palestine and Israel behind once you leave them physically. I’ve been back for 3 months now and I’m working on my book, sorting out photos, have been invited to give some talks. Yesterday I went to one given by Rabbi Cohen. Wolfson college, an Oxford University college, was supposed to host the event but they cancelled last minute. Rabbi Cohen is too controversial and it’s sad to see how a leading university cannot take open debate. Yes, Rabbi Cohen is an orthodox Jew and does not support Zionism and believes that the state of Israel is not “God’s work”. He’s a leading member of the Naturei Karta group which I already came across as they were actively protesting in Jerusalem during the Gaza war. Some say he denies the Holocoust, which is nonsense. The talk was moved to St. Edward school, which is a fantastic boarding school in north Oxford. Compared to its beauty Wolfson looks quite sad with its 1960′ concrete blocks. In a nutshell the talk was on the difference between Zionism and Judaism and how being anti-Sionist does not meam being anti-Semite.
I have a picture of an Orthodox Jew with a badge that says: Free Palestine…
